Production Stills- Tudor skirt

1/5
Mappa Mundi
In the summer of 2013, I was commissioned to make Othello's cloak for Mappa Mundi's stage production 'A Compleat Female Stage Beauty'. I worked at their base for a week following the Director/designer's design for Othello. I fitted the garment on the actor, as they were nearby; rehearsing upstairs. For the same production the Director/designer had seen my Tudor costume and wanted to use it in the production for one of the female characters. He did not use the bodice of my garment as it was the wrong historical period but he used my skirt and altered it to the actress' measurements. He then asked me where I purchased the fabric from as he commissioned my tutor to construct the bodice to go with my skirt.
